Belkin, Samuel
(1911-76)
   American rabbi and educator of Polish origin. He settled in the US in 1929. In 1943 he became president of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and Yeshiva College. At Yeshiva he launched an extensive programme of academic and physical expansion. In 1945 the college became Yeshiva University. He published studies on Philo, rabbinic literature, and traditional Jewish thought.
